A Chatham County sheriffs emissary was harmed when he lost carry out of his car and crashed in to a tree early this morning.
Jon Purvis was responding to a call at about 6 a.m. when he crashed whilst exiting U.S. 1 onto Pittsboro Moncure Road, according to the sheriffs department.
Purvis was one of multiform deputies who responded to an "officer needs assistance" call from Union County deputies who asked for assistance conquering a warlike prisoner. The Union deputies were receiving the jail from Central Prison in Raleigh to Union County when he slipped out of his restraints, according to Maj. Gary Blankenship of the Chatham County Sheriffs Office.
Purvis was unwavering and rapt when he was taken to UNC Hospital, where primary tests indicated he did not have a critical injury, according to Blankenship. The state Highway Patrol is questioning the crash.
